The California Chapter of the National Organization for Women (CA NOW) has issued a statement regarding the video released by Turn Right USA supporting Republican Congressional candidate Craig Huey.
CA NOW President Patty Bellasalma stated, "Although the repugnant and vile video by an independent Republican SuperPAC has now been condemned by Mr. Huey, the support by a women-hating racist group like Turn Right USA is not surprising. Mr. Huey has made a fortune spewing hatred and the belief in “God” ordained inequality of women, gays, lesbians and frankly anyone who is not an evangelical Christian."
Bellasalma went on to say, "There are numerous examples on Mr. Huey’s electionforum.org where anyone who thinks differently than Mr. Huey is described as an enemy of “God” and his followers. Some are said to be working for Satan such as lawyers in Rolling Hills Estates who declined his church’s expansion project and his ex-wife.
According to Mr. Huey’s standards, more than 3 out of 4 households in California's 36th Congressional District are enemies of “God” and “his” followers or working with Satan because their families don’t look and think like he does. Every citizen in the district needs to know what Mr. Huey really thinks about them and who would benefit from his vote in Congress. It most certainly won’t be women, communities of color, working families or anyone who believes we are all born free and equal in dignity and rights."
